CHRIS TEDESCO
CHRIS TEDESCO
Niagara Falls native Chris Tedesco is a 1978 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield and is one of the top call trumpet players in Los Angeles since 1987. Equally at home performing classical trumpet or jazz, Chris’s sound has been heard on numerous recordings for movies, TV shows and commercials, CD recordings, and live shows with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
He is also very active in the business end of music as a musician contractor and project manager for some of his recorded and live work as well. Chris’s trumpet training started early in Niagara Falls, studying with Sal Paonessa, Ron Mendola, and then Chuck Lirette of the Buffalo Philharmonic. He received awards for All County Band and Jazz Band from 6th through 12th grade, along with All State Band and Jazz Band, All Eastern Band and National Honors Band in his senior year. For his senior concerto concert Chris performed to a packed house and multiple standing ovations.
His university training included one year at SUNY Fredonia and in 1983, he graduated from the School of Music at the University of Miami in Florida. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Music and Music Business, Chris freelanced with the Artpark Theater Orchestra, which allowed him the chance to play with members of the Buffalo Philharmonic, The National Ballet of Canada and the Martha Graham Dance Co. Short stints on the road with the Glenn Miller Band and The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra lead him to Los Angeles, where he now lives.
“From Classical Trumpet to 1930’s authentic swing to screaming horn section parts, you WON’T find a more versatile Trumpeter in LA - period”, is how Chris has been described. His Jazz album titled ‘Living the Dream’ made it to the number eight slot for two weeks and stayed in the top 30 for two months on Jazz radio in 2010. As for television, since 2011, Chris’s solo jazz trumpet is heard on the theme to Showtime’s "Homeland" and during the NFL Pro Football season he can be heard on the ‘Monday Night Football theme’. Other TV credits include playing on Ghosts, American Horror Story-Season 6 Cult, Narcos, American Idol, The Green Lantern and Beware the Batman cartoon series, The Latin Grammy’s, The SAG Awards, The Star Trek TV series, The District, Chicago Hope and many more.
Upcoming Movie credits include the soundtracks to Slumberland and Babylon. Past movie credits include the Greatest Showman Platinum Record tune, Finding Nemo, Best in Show, Batman Begins, The Mexican, Winchell, and Nixon. He was the musician contractor and trumpeter for the Dreamwork's movie Need for Speed, Christina Aguilera’s movie Burlesque, and the Big Band trumpet for Ironman 1. Chris is also the leader of the Angel City Horn section, which have recorded the hit Platinum record tunes ‘Don’t Cha Wish’ for the Pussy Cat Dolls, and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Candyman’ and ‘Nasty Naughty Boy’. It is a pleasure and honor to induct Chris Tedesco into the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame, Class of 2022.
