Eli Saks 2017 Legacy

1910-1997

Eli Saks was a master percussionist, friend of comedian Red Skelton and operator of a Niagara Falls liquor store for 35 years. A native of Niagara Falls, Saks owned and operated Saks Liquor Store at Hyde Park Boulevard and Lockport Road until he retired in 1981. In addition to giving private music lessons to young percussionists, he was a tympanist with the Niagara Falls Symphony Orchestra for many years as well as a percussionist with the Carborundum Band. Saks was a substitute percussionist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and played in local bands at private gatherings and Bar Mitzvahs for many years.
